RIP JOHN HUGHES

John Hughes died today of a heart attack. If you came of age in the eighties, like I did, John Hughes movies invoke profound memories and nostalgia. He gave voice to my teenage angst. On my shelf right now are the classics like Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink. Who can forget The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Some Kind of Wonderful, and Weird Science. His films gave birth to the Brat Pack. He will be missed.

  1. I suppose John Hughes actually lived the promise of the Creator... "You will give me added years of life, as rich and full as those of many generations, all packed into one."
Thank you for bringing Mr. Hughes' creative gifts to the attention of those of us who did not know.
