Bridal So So Ha Ha

Since the Rapture is this Saturday, I figured I needed to go ahead and get this post out.  So I saw Bridesmaids last weekend and I think it hass taken me this long to write because I didn't think it was all that funny.  Now don't get me wrong, I thought it had really funny moments, in particular the scene in the bridal shop after the ladies having eaten some shady Brazilian cuisine, but my socks weren't knocked off.  Maybe it was all the hype--the female version of The Hangover?  Not quite!  At it's core, it is still a romantic comedy.  It just has  a little more potty humor and potty mouth than normal.  And as I sat there munching on my smuggled granola bar, I couldn't help but to think that all the women in the audience who were younger than thirty could not possibly relate at all to the multiple Wilson Phillips references in the movie.  Somehow the whole thing put me in the mood to go home and watch Reality Bites for the hundredth time.  That trip into 1990s nostalgia was infinitely more satisfying.  Should you be moved to see Bridesmaids at the multiplex, don't pay more than matinee price.
