A Chick Makes Some Oscar Predictions

#Oscars #OscarPredictions

I’m only going to provide my predictions in the main categories because I’m attending an Oscar Party this weekend at which the competition to pick the most Oscar winners is going to be fierce.  So I can’t show my full hand, ya’ll.  But I can give you a taste:

Best Picture--Lincoln.  I know folks are saying Argo has the momentum, but I still think Lincoln is the best of the two.  In my heart of hearts, I’d like Beasts of the Southern Wild to win, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Best Director--Spielberg hands down.

Best Actor--Daniel Day Lewis and both his foots.

Best Actress--I think Jennifer Lawrence is going to win, but I’d love for Quvenzhané Wallis to win because she is already a “beast” of an actress at such a young age.

Best Supporting Actor--Tommy Lee Jones.  He wore that Thaddeus Stevens wig like a boss.

Best Supporting Actress-- No one can stop talking about Anne Hathaway in Les Miserables, which I haven’t seen, but I figure all the chatter about her performance can’t be too off the mark.

That’s all I’m divulging.  What are your Oscar predictions? Leave your comments.

UPDATE:  Well, I got 2 out of 5 of my predictions.  As soon as they announced Ang Lee as Best Director, I knew Argo was going to win Best Picture.    Lincoln and Spielberg were still the best in my book, but I suppose the mantle has been passed on to a new generation of filmmakers. (I'm rooting for you, Mr. Affleck.) The top categories were sort of a hodge-podge, so no one film had a sweep.  And I was off on the supporting actor win which went to Cristoph Waltz for his performance in Django Unchained.  The good news is that I still won the most predictions of all the categories at the Oscar Party I attended.  I had a 58% accuracy rate. Not too shabby.  Can't wait for next year.
