Cheertastic?

I read today in the New York Times that they are turning Bring It On into a musical. I liked the orginal movie, but is this really necessary? Cheerleaders on Broadway--why? Isn't it enough to make money off all the straight to dvd sequels this movie has spawned? Yuck.
