Bros in Space

 #moviereview #startrekintodarkness

By the end of Star Trek Into Darkness Spock and Captain Kirk (aka Jim) have each saved the other's life and shared a tear or two.  Throughout the movie, Bones clucks and coos over Jim like he's a wayward chick.  Scotty goes to great lengths to have the Captain's back, proving that he's ride or die.  Sulu is trusted to take The Chair and hold it down while Jim and Spock handle business.  It's a love fest.  In space.  Among the bros of the Starship Enterprise.  And I loved every minute of it.  Oh yeah, and there's some action too.  Reviving a character that first appeared on the Star Trek television show in 1967 and again in 1982 in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, the bros take on a super human nemesis Khan who is hell bent on destroying Starfleet.  Although the source material is now decades old, Director J.J. Abrams is able to continue breathing new life into the franchise making it relevant for the new millennium.  Abrams is deft at wielding character, plot, and action for a two hour thrill ride that never disappoints.  Go ahead and buy a ticket to ride.
