Good & Ugly

So I went with a friend of mine to see The Ugly Truth starring Katherine Heigl and Girard Butler. It was ok. I wish Butler's character had been more developed. There was only a hint of why had formed such a boorish opinion of relationships. Also, some of the foul language was a bit over-the-top. Perhaps the writers were trying to be edgy, but it didn't quite ring true. But can you really expect edgy from the same people who wrote Legally Blonde? Anyway, I think Heigl needs to work on better vehicles to feature her talent. She and her mother should ferret out better material to produce. Otherwise, it was a decent chick flick and form of mindless entertainment. The experience even better because it was the first time I had gone to Big Cinemas South Dekalb 12 theater. The theater was really intimate and cozy, you can order a Philly cheese steak and fries instead of popcorn if you like and set your food at the small table beside your seat, there's an adjacent jazz bar if you want a drink before or after the show, and the admission price for an evening show was less than ten bucks. Definitely worth a return trip to see whatever ugly film your heart desires.
